You can extract .TGZ file from both Zimbra Collaboration Server or Zimbra Web Client using following steps -
- Open Zimbra Desktop.
- Click on preferences tab on the Menu bar to select all the items, i.e., emails, contacts, calendars, tasks. With this all these items will be exported to .TGZ file.
- Select Import/Export option from the particular account appearing on the left side of the screen. Choose “Export” from the two options that appear on the right side.
- Under the export section –
- First check on “Advanced Settings”
- Once Advanced Settings is selected, “Data Types” section will be shown, letting you select all or any of the information (from mail, address book, calendar, tasks, briefcase) that you want to save in .TGZ format.
- Now click on Export button, choose the desired location where you want to save your .TGZ file.
To unzip .TGZ file, go to its saving location, right click on it, select “Extract Files” option. Now you have the TGZ folder, ready to be converted to .PST file.

To move PST files to Exchange Server, you have to run complete on your Exchange Management Shell. This way, you can easily export all the PST files from the system to the corresponding Exchange Server mailboxes.
For Example, your command will be "New-MailboxImportRequest -Mailbox "John Smith" -FilePath \\someFileServer\E$\someFolder\john_smith.pst -TargetRootFolder "Migrated Emails""
